texas was calling so i answered

Texas has a really special place in my heart. It was the first flying vacation I took with my boyfriend and was such a springboard to the vacations we have since enjoyed. We went to see Radiohead and made a Austin/San  Antonio trip out of it.

When I looked at the line up for the ACL Music Festival it was not hard to book the tickets to fly out.  Both Radiohead and LCD Soundsystem were playing–no brainer!  Actually it was super easy to book since me and my friend Kelly were having cocktails at our favorite local farm to table restaurant planning a wish list friends trip! Hopefully she didn’t feel like too much of a third wheel while we revisited many of our stops from the first trip.

During our trip we visited the San Antonio Riverwalk, which I love love love, but really spent most of our time enjoying the super young, lively city of Austin. Here are some of my favorite snaps from the trip, our wonderful airbnb as well as some recommendations on musts next time you are in Austin.

Antique Vintage Shopping: Uncommon Objects [Just go. Amazingly curated and designed sections to walk through. They make an art out of the experience]

Food and Drink: Mi Madres [dog friendly with great indoor / outdoor seating options ] | The Mean Eyed Cat [Johnny Cash flavored bar which is part of the famous Stubbs BBQ brand] | Freetail Brewing [named for the famous Freetail bat. Enjoy great beer and the most amazing mac and cheese ever]

Currently listening to Bleed, Bleed, Bleed by Thieves Like Us.  Hear this song and more on the Spotify Paisley Rosie Featured Song Playlist
